Hi, I am Jonas. You know me as a basketball player, but I would like you to meet me as a human.

I was honoured to be invited to become an ambassador of “For a Safe Lithuania” campaign started by Her Excellency, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Ms. Dalia Grybauskaitė.

The most important thing that a country’s future depend upon is the kids. That is why I have established Jonas Valančiūnas Foundation. Its goal is to promote the engagement of kids and adolescents at day centers. The centers that would offer help for one of the most vulnerable social groups, kids and adolescents living in difficult social conditions, is one of the top priorities of my Foundation.

My goal is to make every kid in a day center discover discover himself or herself – whether it is basketball, soccer, plane modelling or anything else. That’s how you help the kids to discover their path in life that’s how the kids progress as humans.

I hope that the Foundation will raise many kids and young people who would find their path in life thanks to that very Foundation.
