D\u017eiaugiam\u0117s, kad remiantis ger\u0105ja praktika, \u0161. m. rugs\u0117jo 22 d. Kaune buvo atidaryti paaugli\u0173 dienos namai \u201eIstorijos\u201c. Kaune \u012fkurti dienos namai veiks vadovaujantis J. Valan\u010di\u016bno paramos fondo sukurta ir taikoma sporto metodika darbui su jaunimu rengiant juos savaranki\u0161kam gyvenimui. Vien\u0105 grup\u0119 sudaro 12 paaugli\u0173 \u2013 kaip 12 \u017eaid\u0117j\u0173 krep\u0161inio komandoje. Sporto kalba yra ai\u0161ki ir lengvai suprantama, tod\u0117l puikiai pasiteisina socialiniame darbe su paaugliais. \u0160is paaugli\u0173 ugdymo b\u016bdas \u012fne\u0161a disciplinos \u2013 kaip krep\u0161inio aik\u0161tel\u0117je yra tam tikri neleid\u017eiami \u017eingsniai, taip ir paaugli\u0173 dienos namuose yra netoleruojam\u0173 veiksm\u0173: paty\u010dios, smurtas, turto niokojimas ir melas. Jis t\u0119sis iki 2024 m. bir\u017eelio m\u0117n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>English bellow<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jonas Valan\u010di\u016bnas Support Fund together with the Order of Malta Aid Service (hereinafter referred to as the Maltese) started to implement the project &#8220;Preparation of children and young people for independent life, using sport-based support&#8221;. The goal of the project is to develop a quality support service for vulnerable children and young people, using a sports-based methodology for changing the behavior of children and young people and developing skills important for independent living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is financed by the EEA financial mechanisms (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.norwaygrants.org\/?fbclid=IwAR0IHtfPtfqpyRtG2PrCmMDl7BbuHkdNZjxYxWgmZoifyw3qO8hSLUXalPE\" target=\"_blank\">www.norwaygrants.org<\/a>). The amount allocated to the project is 250000 Eur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Jonas Valan\u010di\u016bnas Support Fund together with the Order of Malta Aid Service has opened adolescents&#8217; day home.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four years ago, the first adolescent day home for teenagers &#8220;I\u0161vien&#8221; was established in Vilnius.&nbsp; The second&nbsp;adolescents day home &#8220;Istorijos&#8221; was opened on the 22 of September in Kaunas. Working with young people and preparing them for independent life the day home in Kaunas will operate according to the sports methodology developed and applied by the Jonas Valan\u010di\u016bnas Support Foundation. One group consists of 12 teenagers like 12 players in a basketball team. The language of sport is clear and easy to understand, so it becomes a perfect tool for social work with teenagers. Educating teenagers in this way brings discipline &#8211; there are specific unacceptable steps on the basketball court as well as on the day home &#8211; there are unacceptable adolescent actions, such as bullying, violence, destruction of property, and lying. After committing one of these violations, the young person receives a technical foul. If he or she receives three technical fouls, the teenager is disqualified from the day home for a period of time as a basketball player off the court.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As there are only 12 teenagers in the group, each of them receives individual attention. The home has a spacious kitchen for cooking, a dining room for communal lunches, a lounge where the young people can prepare lessons and socialise, and an active leisure room for table tennis, music, and other activities. The newly opened adolescents day home will also develop an escort service for young people from foster homes and families in difficulty.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening ceremony was attended by President Dalia Grybauskait\u0117, basketball player and founder of the Support Foundation Jonas Valan\u010di\u016bnas, Acting Secretary General of the Order of Malta Edvinas Regelskis, Vice-Minister of Social Security and Labour Vilma Augien\u0117, representatives of the Kaunas City Municipality, the Malteser priest Vytautas Rapalis, and others.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Dalia Grybauskait\u0117 in her congratulatory speech thanked Jonas Valan\u010di\u016bnas for fulfilling his promise. &#8220;I will tell you a secret when I was still the acting President, Jonas promised me that he would invest in children and young people. Today we celebrate Jonas promise fulfilled, which means he kept his one word. I am very grateful that he wanted to help children and invested himself, not only with his finances but also with his attention and understanding. The example of Jonas behaviour is one of the most beautiful. I hope that the young people will find this home useful, that they will come here to learn and to strengthen, to develop their character. Perhaps like Jonas, who can aspire, who can keep his word, who cares about values and love for his country. I am very happy that people of such commitment are with us today,&#8221; said the President.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jonas Valan\u010di\u016bnas was thankful for all people, who worked on this: \u201eI can\u2018t be a soldier on my own, so I would like to thank everyone and to promise not to give up on this &#8211; to nurture this activity and to take make it the best place for teenagers. If we want to see a bright tomorrow, we should act now. We need to work and I promise to move forward with a great team.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two non-governmental organisations have joined forces to make the Lithuanian teenager visible and audible. The Adolescents Day Home was opened as part of the project &#8220;Preparing children and young people for independent living through a sports-based approach&#8221;. The project&#8217;s activities include four strands: opening of the Teenage Day Home; development of the escort service for young people to independent life; partnership with employers to create a mentoring system in companies where young people will do their internship or traineeship; training for professionals in Vilnius and Kaunas about the escort service.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is funded by the EEA financial mechanisms (www.norwaygrants.org).
